The Emporio skyscraper is the tallest office building in Hamburg and one of the city’s most famous buildings.
It was built between 1961 and 1964. It was designed by the architect Helmut Hentrich and the Austrian architect Hubert Petschnigg.
With its rotationally symmetrical axis and wings, the building is timelessly elegant and has been a listed building since 2000.
The special task for the new lighting of the foyer was to integrate controllable lighting into the listed structure.
Based on the LUXO EVO luminaire, a special luminaire was developed to specific dimensions so as not to interfere with the existing sprinkler system.
The result is a completely homogeneous illumination of the area with a very high illuminance level that can be controlled via a touch panel if required.
